Our Story

Our Story

Koinya was born from the creative journey of two friends who began their first venture, Dwoito, during university life. In 2013–14, when e-commerce was just emerging in Bangladesh, Dwoito’s handcrafted jewelry quickly found its place in people’s hearts. That early recognition taught us the power of authentic craft and community.

As graduation neared, we began questioning what our long-term creative path would be. Handmade jewelry had its charm, but it could not scale the way our aspirations demanded. And so, from countless conversations, experiments, and the spirit of collaboration, Koinya took shape.

Koinya began with handloom sarees—reimagining colors, creating our own block motifs, and working closely with local artisans. Our journey expanded into batik, wax batik, screen printing, ready-to-wear, maternity wear, and bold experiments with denim. Each creation carries the essence of Bangladesh’s craft traditions, retold in a contemporary language.

Today, Koinya is more than a brand. It is a community built with the support of customers who have become friends. Together, we work to carry Bangladeshi craftsmanship to the world—authentically, responsibly, and beautifully.

The Journey We Weave

Koinya is not built on trends—it is shaped by journeys.
Journeys that began in villages and cities, on theatre stages and behind camera lenses, among artisans, looms, and living traditions.

Every fabric we create carries intention: respect for craft, patience in process, and care for the hands that make it. We work closely with local artisans, not to replicate the past, but to reinterpret it—thoughtfully, responsibly, and with global relevance.

This is our way of weaving culture into contemporary life.
